The popular science album "Toponymy of Alania Gorges” will be created using a grant from the Russian Geographical Society. The publication will include information about the most popular gorges of the Republic of North Ossetia–Alania: Alagir, Dargavs, Darial, Digoria, Karmadon, Kurtat, and Tsey.
The content of the album is interdisciplinary and involves combining several disciplines, including geography, history, journalism, and linguistics. The project implementation process is accompanied by research work, the study of archival documents, cartographic material, and photography.

The gorges of North Ossetia–Alania are known far beyond the borders of the republic, each of them has its own unique landscape. Pushkin and Lermontov also wrote about these places; there are numerous natural and historical attractions here, which are visited by thousands of tourists every year.
The album "Toponymy of Alania Gorges " is being created with the support of the Russian Geographical Society, the Russian Historical Society, and the History of the Fatherland Foundation at the K. L. Khetagurov North Ossetian State University.
