The Russian Geographical Society invites young researchers and bloggers to join the environmental movement of the Russian Geographical Society "Arctic Volunteer". The candidates who have passed the competitive selection will take part in the expedition “Arctic: Spring Cleaning”. It will be held this summer in Taimyr, in the village of Khatanga.
To become a volunteer, you need to fill out a questionnaire on the website of the RGS Youth Club — tell about your achievements, education, and work. Be sure to mention your strengths and what contribution you are willing to make to the project. The expedition is designed to involve young people, so the participants are considered strictly from 18 to 35 years old. Applications are accepted until March 1.
It is also important for us to know about your health status, as active physical work and living conditions with limited comfort await the volunteers (the expedition participants are accommodated on the territory of a boarding school). The expedition takes place in a zone of harsh Arctic climate, at a considerable distance from major cities, therefore, when submitting an application, please count on your strength and resources.

We invite to join the team:
- volunteers ready for physical work: collecting large metal debris, loading heavy barrels;
- biologists, ecologists, geologists, as well as initiative research projects;
- technical specialists working with welding equipment;
- photographers, bloggers, videographers developing their media platforms.
In addition to work, volunteers will receive many useful and interesting bonuses: training courses where they will learn how to conduct comprehensive research in the Arctic, ethnographic excursions, acquaintance with representatives of the small peoples of Taimyr, immersion in the culture and nature of the region. And at the end of the expedition, the most active participants will be enrolled in the reserve of the RGS’s Expeditionary Corps.
