RGS Festival "Going to Savin" Receives Russian Event Awards RGS Festival "Going to Savin" Receives Russian Event Awards

The festival of the Russian Geographical Society "Going to Savin" received the international award Russian Event Awards 2024 in the Ural Federal District. The large-scale forum, held from August 10 to 11 on the territory of a unique archaeological monument and an ancient observatory in the Belozersk District in the Kurgan Region, took first place in the category "Event in the Field of Patriotic Tourism". The award ceremony for the winners of the district stage of the international Russian Event Awards was held on October 18, at the World Trade Center in Yekaterinburg.

The events of the festival "Going to Savin" gathered more than 15,000 people in two days. The guests of the large-scale tourist forum came to Savin Sanctuary Park from different regions of Russia and the Republic of Kazakhstan. Entertainment to suit every taste was prepared for them.

The Geographical Dictation, master classes, creative contests and games, a film screening, park tours, a quiz with souvenirs from the RGS, a fair with souvenirs and handmade products from craftsmen from all over the Ural Federal District were held for the participants of the festival. Guests of the event could fly in balloons, take a ride on boats, catamarans, and an all-terrain vehicle "Burlak". As part of the festival, a gastronomic show was organized, during which the chefs prepared 2,500 liters of shulyum soup.

The festival "Going to Savin" was organized by the Russian Geographical Society together with the regional government and the Department for Culture of the Kurgan Region with the support of the governor of the region and with the information support of radio "Gordost".
