Russian schoolchildren won two gold, two silver, and two bronze medals at the OLGENAS International Geography Olympiad, which took place from January 20 to January 24 in Indonesia. This is the first competition in 2025 in which our national team took part.
«Congratulations to our students on commendable results. I am glad that the national team started the new season with medals. In 2024, Russia entered the top five countries according to the results of the international olympiads. We hope that this year will be marked by new achievements and will help even more children realize their potential and develop their talents — this is exactly the national goal set by President Vladimir Putin,» said Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
Gold medals of the OLGENAS International Geography Olympiad were awarded to:
— Elizaveta Kiseleva (V. F. Ovchinnikov Lyceum «Vtoraya Shkola» (eng. «Second School») in Moscow);
— Tikhon Pulyaev (Moscow Gymnasium in the Southwest No. 1543).
Silver medals were awarded to:
— Dina Islyamutdinova (Moscow School No. 2054);
— Christian Rymarchuk (Moscow School No. 179).
Bronze medals were awarded to:
— Angelina Gayazova (Economics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 29 in Izhevsk);
— Artyom Yanzen (Lyceum No. 11 in Chelyabinsk).
The coaching staff of the national team included graduates of the Department of Economic and Social Geography of Russia, Faculty of Geography, Moscow State University, Anna Romashina and Artur Petrosyan.
