The Russian Geographical Society will support promising Russian geographers at the International Tourism Conference, which will be held on April 20–27, 2026, at the University of Belgrade (Belgrade, Republic of Serbia). The selection of participants is done by experts of the RGS. You can apply until March 6.
The purpose of the international conference «Tourist and Recreational Complex in the System of Regional Development» is to determine the role and current trends in the transformation of the tourist and recreational complex in the system of regional development of territories, taking into account the priority of innovative approaches in the economy, the development of domestic and international tourism, as well as improving the quality of services for vacationers. Within the framework of the program, representatives of the scientific community and practitioners in the field of recreational geography, tourism, and spatial development from Russia, Serbia, and other countries of the world will share their experiences and present relevant scientific and practical cases.
As part of the partnership, the RGS will support the organization of the conference by sending speakers who are ready to make an oral presentation. The support provides for the payment of travel on the Moscow—Belgrade—Moscow route.
Important: all other expenses related to participation in the conference, including the registration fee, accommodation, meals, and other related costs, are paid by the participants themselves.
Reports should correspond to the topic of the scientific conference, as well as be thematically related to the activities of the RGS, including:
— educational projects in the field of geography, ecology, and tourism;
— specially protected natural areas, national parks, and nature reserves;
— expeditionary and research activities;
— sustainable environmental management and sustainable tourism.
The correlation of the announced reports with the current projects and programs of the RGS or their potential for integration into the activities of the Russian Geographical Society is welcome.
Reports (articles) should be prepared in accordance with the rules specified in the application form.
Speakers should also have experience in participating in international conferences and working with international cases in the field of tourism and geography, have professional contacts or partnerships abroad.

To participate in the selection, you must fill out an application, consent to the processing of personal data, and send it along with the accompanying documents (report (article), letter of recommendation, international passport scan) to the email address a.timofeeva@rgo.ru up to and including March 6, 2026, marked «Tourism Conference».
The organizers will contact the participants who have successfully passed the selection process by March 25, 2026.
The conference is organized by: Kuban State University, the RGS Center in the Republic of Serbia, the University of Belgrade, the Geographical Society of the Republic of Serbia, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Banja Luka, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Belgrade, the Abkhazian State University, the M. M. Adyshev Osh Technological University, the Russian Environmental Academy.
