The names of the winners of the international contest «Write Your Question for the Geographical Dictation — 2026» will be published no later than August 15. Previously, the results were scheduled to be released before August 3, but a record number of applications and a high level of work required an extension of the assessment.
In 2026, participants from 12 countries submitted 1,460 applications to the contest, more than three times more than in 2020. The age of the authors ranged from 8 to 77 years. Experts need to verify the accuracy of the facts, evaluate the originality of the assignments, and determine how well they correspond to the format of the educational campaign.
«Every year it becomes more difficult for us to choose winners. There are a lot of worthy questions. The final work with the contest materials takes time,» said a permanent member of the expert jury of the contest.
