Stavropol regional branch
The Stavropol regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society was established in 1956 on the basis of the Stavropol Regional History Society.
Currently, the Department works in the areas of theory and methodology of geography, geoecology, studies landscape biotics and landscape ecology, phenology, problems of regional ecology, as well as ethnodemographic and migration processes in the south of Russia. Work is regularly carried out to preserve the unique natural and cultural heritage of the region. Research is underway in these areas.
