2022
In the year of the 80th anniversary of the legendary Alaska – Siberia Air Route, the Russian Geographical Society conducted a survey of historical military airfields of the air route. The main goals for the season were to explore the crash sites of aircraft ferried along the air route, to preserve important historical sites built during the Great Patriotic War and associated with the ALSIB, to create an exhibition
2022
A large-scale RGS program for cleaning up the Arctic was resumed. The ecological expedition to clean up the Arctic zone of Russia is a new stage of great work to solve the global task of restoring the Arctic ecosystem. In the summer of 2022, the main expedition work and accompanying environmental studies were underway on Kildin Island in the Barents Sea, and on Wrangel Island in the Arctic Ocean
