Agreement on Cooperation Agreement on Cooperation

August 30, the Russian Geographical Society and the Mongolian Geographic Society signed an agreement on cooperation. The signing ceremony took place in the building of the Central Palace of Culture in Ulaanbaatar. The document regulates joint activities of the both parties to promote geography, as well as environmental protection.

The agreement was signed by First Vice-President of the Russian Geographical Society, academician N. Kasimov and President of the Mongolian Geographic Society, researcher from the Institute of Geography and Geoecology of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia, D. Dorjgotov.

As part of the ceremony, the president of the Mongolian Geographic Society was awarded a Przhevalsky gold medal for his great contribution in the field of geography and geochemistry of soils, soil resources and their rational use in Central Asia. The award was given by Nikolay Kasimov. The medal, established by the Society in 1946, is awarded for important scientific results of travel to little-known or completely unknown areas, for works on cartography, geodesy, mathematical geography, geomorphology and military geography.

President of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia Regdel Duger, other well-known scientists from Mongolia and China, representatives of Mongolian ministries and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Mongolia also took part in the event.
