For the second year in a row, the Russian Geographical Society has become an official partner and participant in the national award in the field of environmental education and natural photography «Rassvet». It is conducted by a long-term partner of the RGS, the Union of Wildlife Photographers.
Getting to know the biological diversity of our planet, the amazing world of its wildlife, the history and culture of the peoples inhabiting it have always been the basis of the educational activities of the Russian Geographical Society. Every year, the RGS supports a large number of expeditions, projects, and media events that promote knowledge of Russia and other countries. That is why this season of the «Rassvet» award, the RGS has established a special prize for a project dedicated to inaccessible regions of our homeland.
The national award «Rassvet» in the field of environmental education and natural photography was established to encourage authors, teams, and organizations that create significant projects that contribute to the development of any field of natural photography and other creative processes that increase the level of environmental literacy and demonstrate the importance of caring for living nature.
The special award will be given to:
The best photo project;
The best publishing project;
The best internet project;
The best project for protected nature;
The best photo tour project;
The best educational project.
There will be special rewards for the authors of projects that have made a significant contribution to the development of wildlife photography in Russia, as well as authors of projects that have a significant impact on the development of environmental photography.
Anastasia Chernobrovina, Advisor to the President of the Russian Geographical Society on Information Policy, will be part of the jury of the award this season.
