«Ocean» for the young geographers

The profile change of the Russian Geographical Society «The world of discoveries» has started at the All-Russian Children`s Center «Ocean» in Vladivostok.

One hundred boys and girls from 52 regions of Russia have become its participants. All of them have passed the competitive selection, and are being the winners of the international and All-Russian Olympiads, winners of competitions and the activists of the youth movement of the Russian Geographical Society.  

For these three coming weeks the young geographers will have meetings with the scientists and the travelers, experts and photographers, master-classes and practical lessons, first hiking trips and geographical quests – preparation to the future expeditions.

The profile change in the «Ocean» named «The world of discoveries» is the fourth this year, it was preceded by the similar profile changes in the children`s centers «Orlyonok», «Smena» and «Artek».

Seven hundred children from across the country have already become the participants of this unique project. The project has already gained its own traditions by the moment: when the profile change «The world of discovery» is over, the children are writing letters to the following participants of the geographical changes.
