The results of the international prize #WEARETOGETHER were announced on December 5, in Moscow. The second place in its regional stage was taken by the project of the Russian Geographical Society "Springs of the RGS". The award ceremony took place on Volunteer Day at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall.
The award ceremony for the winners of the international prize #WEARETOGETHER was attended by the President of Russia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the RGS Vladimir Putin.
“I am very glad to see you all in Moscow. We have recently started celebrating this day – Volunteer Day. I wanted to say ‘holiday’, but somehow the word ‘holiday’ does not really fit with your activity, because it is well known that you always work: on holidays and on weekdays, always where and when your help is needed – thank you. But during this time, since 2017, serious, very visible changes have taken place in society. What do I mean by that? Two thirds of our citizens are engaged in volunteer activities. When you think about it, a very simple thought comes to mind: it is that this is not something new, but a revival of the old traditions of the peoples of our country. Because mercy, support for those who need support, has always been present in the hearts of our people for centuries throughout our vast, vast homeland. And the fact that young people are doing this is doubly, threefold important, because it means that the younger generations pick up what was in the soul of our ancestors, our grandfathers, grandmothers, great-grandfathers and so on, an extremely important thing. This strengthens our country from the inside," Vladimir Putin stressed.

The environmental and socially significant project "Springs of the RGS" is designed to draw public attention to the problems of pollution of spring water. Our goal is to create a unified network of well-maintained springs in regions with checked water quality.
The international forum of civil participation #WEARETOGETHER is a key event in the field of volunteerism, charity, and nonprofit organizations in Russia and the world, a platform for the formation of a culture of mutual assistance and caring. The purpose of the forum is to organize a dialogue and partnership between the state, business, and civil society for the development of the country and effective assistance to people.
The international award #WEARETOGETHER is the flagship project of the global community of leaders of social transformation. The idea of this project was proposed by the volunteers of the All-Russian event "We are Together" at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2020. The president supported the idea, which was eventually included in the list of instructions of the head of state dated July 23, 2020.
