The Russian Geographical Society announces the launch of a competition for participation in the first international specialized session «World of Discoveries» at the All-Russian children’s center «Ocean». Young geographers from different countries will find an exciting and useful program that will allow them to gain new knowledge and skills, meet interesting people: scientists, researchers, travelers. And of course, the children will have a good rest on the shores of the Sea of Japan, surrounded by the pristine nature of the Far East. The session will take place from June 20 to July 10, 2025.
The current session of the RGS «World of Discoveries» is dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society. The educational program will help children remember the famous pioneers, the most important research, and significant achievements that left their mark on the history of the country, and will also allow them to choose a geographical profession to suit their taste.
In 2025, the specialized session of the RGS at the All-Russian children’s center «Ocean» will become international: its participants will be schoolchildren from Russia, Russian children living abroad, as well as citizens of other countries. One of the important objectives of the project is to strengthen the friendship of the peoples of different countries.
Applications from Russian schoolchildren aged 13–17 are accepted until March 9, 2025.
Applications from schoolchildren aged 13–15 from other countries are accepted until March 16, 2025.

The specialized sessions project «World of Discoveries» has been implemented by the Russian Geographical Society in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation since 2015. Every year, gifted schoolchildren go to the All-Russian and international children’s centers «Orlyonok», «Ocean», «Artek», and «Smena». Thousands of young geographers from different regions of Russia have already become participants in the project. The Krasnodar Regional Branch of the RGS organizes and conducts thematic sessions of the «World of Discoveries». The main goal of the large-scale educational project is to preserve and enhance Russia’s intellectual potential.
