The circumnavigation expedition of the Tomsk Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society left the coast of Australia on December 11. After the traditional customs check at Cullen Bay Marina near Darwin, Stanislav Berezkin and Evgeny Kovalevsky sent their ship to the island of Timor. The travelers chose the Indonesian port of Kupang as their next destination. The target is about 500 miles away.
“A cyclone is chasing us from the south. It should catch up with us in a week, on Tuesday. The task is to get to Timor Island in time and enter the port of Kupang before the cyclone,” said Evgeny Kovalevsky.
