Dear friends!
The year 2025 is about to become history. This is an occasion to recall the main events that shaped our lives in the previous 365 days, and to look into the future.
Last year we celebrated the 180th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society, the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, and the 500th anniversary of the development of the Northern Sea Route. These milestones are important in themselves, but together they allow us to assess the meaning of geography itself — what we are all passionate about, what we are working for. Scientific knowledge has allowed our compatriots to build, protect, and develop their country at all times. Today we are entering an era of rethinking the role of geography. It will be not only the most interesting school subject, but also a worldview platform based on reliable knowledge about the native land and genuine patriotism.
As we see off 2025, we say goodbye to the first quarter of the 21st century. So imperceptibly, history is being created, in the mainstream of which we feel ourselves especially clearly today.
The year 2026 will be the eve of the Year of Geography. And, as always, we have huge plans. Stay with us!
Happy New Year! Good health, peaceful skies, and new discoveries!
