Chuvash Republican branch
The Chuvash Republican branch of the Russian Geographical Society was founded on February 17, 2006. The department was revived after the termination of its activities in the early 90s.
Members of the interuniversity environmental public organization "Youth Environmental Squad of the Chuvash Republic", students of the I.N. Ulyanov Chuvash State University, activists of the Youth Club of the Russian Geographical Society actively cooperate with the Department. Priority areas of activity are scientific research of geosystems, expeditions in Chuvashia, ecological and geographical education, popularization of Earth Sciences, comprehensive local history, development of the potential of ecological tourism and agrotourism in Chuvashia.
