Khakass Republican branch

The Khakass Republican branch of the Russian Geographical Society is one of the youngest divisions of the Society. It was formed on August 3, 2010.

The main activities of the department:

- assistance in the development of the system of specially protected natural territories in the Republic of Khakassia and in the south of Siberia

- - promoting the development of ecological tourism in the Republic of Khakassia and in the south of Siberia

- monitoring of biological diversity, including rare species (snow leopard, forest reindeer, etc.)

- environmental management and optimization of the geo-ecological structure of Khakassia

- environmental education and youth work, promotion of scientific information in the field of geography, ecology and related sciences

- promotion of the ideas of rational environmental management in the region

- study of the historical and cultural heritage of Khakassia

- integration of public, state and commercial organizations in the field of nature protection
