Office in the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania
The Department of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania was established in March 1972 on the basis of the Faculty of Geography (now the Faculty of Geography and Geoecology) of the K.L. Khetagurov North Ossetian State University.
The main areas of activity are conducting scientific research in all areas related to the development of the North Caucasus region, as well as training and advanced training in the field of environmental and geographical education and enlightenment. The Department has commissions on geoecology, sustainable development of mountainous territories, geographical problems of the North Caucasus Federal District, as well as on the service and tourism industry.
