Penza Regional branch

The Penza regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society was recreated in 2010.

Since its establishment, the main activity of the Department has been aimed at developing national geography, protecting the nature of Russia and the Penza region, preserving and popularizing cultural and historical attractions, and attracting young people to actively participate in the public life of the country.

The most significant projects of the Department include the creation and development of one of the first youth movements in Russia on the basis of the youth center "Pathfinders of the Russian Geographical Society" named after Lavrenty Zagoskin (hereinafter the molcenter joined the work of the RGS Youth Club). Also, the key place is occupied by the effective implementation of environmental projects that have united the youth initiatives of the region within the framework of one movement, the environmental youth direction with the historical name "Green Patrol" has been recreated, public environmental monitoring throughout the region (raids, patrols, expeditions and research) has been organized by creating an environmental center.
