Perm Regional Branch

The Perm Regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society was organized on May 18, 1954 on the initiative of geographers of Perm University and the Pedagogical Institute.

From the first days of its existence, the department launched work on the problem of "The productive forces of the Perm region, their study in the interests of further development of the national economy of the Western Urals."

The main activities are the geographical and cultural-historical study of the region, the popularization of geographical knowledge among the population, the organization and conduct of scientific research.
