Volgograd Regional Branch
The Volgograd Regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society was established in December 1950.
The main directions of his activity are local history and the promotion of geographical knowledge among the population.
Local history conferences and expeditions to the protected areas of the region are regularly held. An important role is given to the popularization of geographical knowledge, cooperation with geography teachers in Volgograd and the region. The department participates in the preparation and publication of textbooks, the publication of scientific and popular science articles.
